Meet the founders

Catherine and Konni have collaborated since 2021, a partnership that became STUDIO EDIITT in 2026. As equal collaborators, they bring complementary perspectives to every project, and their process reflects the STUDIO EDIITT philosophy itself: ideas are considered from more than one viewpoint, challenged when necessary, and continually refined until every element feels purposeful.

Together, they balance creative intuition with disciplined execution, spatial clarity with emotional warmth, and ambitious ideas with practical solutions. This dual perspective allows STUDIO EDIITT to see both the entire composition and the smallest details required to bring each project to life.

Catherine X. Nelson

Founder & Principal Designer

Catherine X. Nelson has a particular ability to recognize the hidden potential within a floor plan and reimagine how a home can function, flow, and feel. Her design strengths begin with space planning and interior detailing. Her fluency in contemporary and modern luxury informs, rather than limits, her work.

Catherine brings an internationally informed eye and a strong sense of proportion, clarity, and refinement to every style, revealing what is distinctive about each home and translating it into an interior that feels layered, warm, current, and beautifully resolved.

Her perspective was shaped by luxury commercial real estate development in Asia beginning in 1993, including oversight of a 1.6-million-square-foot mixed-use development, and nearly two decades of living and working in New York City. Her subsequent career in investment banking and finance adds analytical discipline, strategic clarity, and a sophisticated understanding of budgets, priorities, long-term value, and complex project decisions.

Konni Tanaka

Founder & Principal Designer

Konni Tanaka began her career in architectural design in 2006 and founded her own studio, Konni Tanaka Interior Design, in 2008. Her work spans luxury residential design, premium hospitality, multi-unit development, and master planning, bringing experience across different scales and settings.

Her highly personal approach begins with how clients actually live: their routines, their gathering spaces, the objects and memories that matter to them. With an intuitive eye for proportion, color, materials, furnishings, and art, she translates those details into rooms that feel complete rather than merely finished.

Her hands-on project experience connects the creative vision with its execution, carrying every decision through selections, craftsmanship, and finish details, so that the final result feels effortless rather than overworked.
